SUZANNE WINSTON

Owner, Suzanne Winston and Associates (SWA)

Beginning in 2002, Suzanne Winston renovated her first single family home, and was instantly hooked on real estate.

In the first two years of her career she successfully remodeled and sold eleven cottages in Fairhope, Alabama’s popular “Fruit and Nut” district. That’s when she officially launched Suzanne Winston and Associates, (SWA), a real estate investing business specializing in Historic Renovation and Preservation.

Suzanne, often referred to as “The Queen of Fix and Flip,” has since gone on to flip more than 150 single and multifamily properties.

Over the years, Suzanne has gained insight and expertise through hands-on experience as well as continued educational courses and certification in virtually all aspects of real estate including:

  • New Construction
  • Private Placement Capital Development for Multifamily Acquisitions
  • Condominium Conversion
  • Land Development
  • ADEM Compliance

In 2011, Suzanne was appointed to the Baldwin County Architectural Review Board where she continues to serve. Prior to that, she served two years in Fairhope’s Department of Planning and Zoning on the Board of Adjustments and Appeals.

Suzanne is a past Chairman of Fairhope’s Historic Home Tour, and has served as Vice-President of the Montrose Historic Society. She is also a sustaining member of The Junior League of Mobile and an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and chairs the fundraising committee for Christ the King School.

The SWA team approaches each project with the desire of leaving a better place for all in its footprint, and excels when it comes to the right blend of experienced renovation teams to accomplish the seemingly impossible. SWA’s business philosophy is grounded in community involvement and in forming community alliances, a principle Suzanne was introduced to during her years volunteering with the Junior League.

Prior to launching a full-time career in the real estate industry, Suzanne was an award-winning television journalist. She currently resides in Montrose, AL with husband, Stephen and son, Tripp in a 130-year-old house that they are lovingly restoring.

Suzanne’s renovation projects have been featured in Southern Living and several other specialty publications, as well as MSN.
